Album is 25% done.

I have a strong feeling this is going to put me "on the map". Everything I'm writing is coming out wonderfully, it all feels so natural. The entire album is one long track that's cut up into different sections, like a Girl Talk album. This is almost never done in dance music and I don't understand why, so I want to pioneer it. All of my sketches so far are 800% better than my last album, delicious.

Oh and when I inevitably have to move to LA, I'm glad Reuel is moving there now. At least I'll have him to buddy up with, and if I get signed on to Dim Mak then we're definitely going to be seeing each other all the time which would be a dream come true. And of course all my high school buddies that went off to LMU, USC and UCLA.. so I'll have company. I'm just excited to start the life I've been working my ass off for for years.

Just had to share my excitement with you guys. Back to the cave for another six hour recording session.

Who's going to HARD 13? Man, the LA dance scene is just AMAZING.

I'm writing my second album and I need FEMALE SINGERS from Los Angeles or San Diego to sing on my next single. It's going to be on iTunes and Beatport through Burn the Fire records by the end of 2009 (unless I get signed to Dim Mak in the summer).

I don't care how experianced you are with singing or how many voice lessons you have or haven't taken. To make myself more clear.. INEXPERIANCED SINGERS ARE COOL BY ME! And if you are experianced, that much better. I need multiple songs sung on.. if you kick ass we can do more than one track together. If you'd like to write your own lyrics and melody we can work that out, but I have two songs in mind that are already written that you simply need to sing on, so either way. And I can't stress enough.. I don't care how many MySpace friends you have or if you only sing in the shower to yourself. That would be rad for both of us!

If you don't live in LA or SD and have access to a studio and can READ MUSIC, we can work that out too!

Was at the studio last night from 10-4 AM. Didn't get a lot done to be honest because I forgot to bring the adapter for my MacBook like a god damned moron. But I still got a good mix done for Closing My Eyes While Driving! Good news, Ben got the studio for all of winter break and next semester! So there are going to be MANY all nighters pulled in the future in order to get our album out soon. I'm really excited about the whole thing.

I think everyone should have a four dollar habit. A four dollar habit is a cheap and consistent addiction that provides some sort of escapism from the world for a short period of time. You're only allowed one because you're probably poor like me. Most people choose Starbucks or cigarettes but I'm going to have to go with California burritos on this one. God damn I love San Diego.

In the last two years I have done this:

Gone to school. Still a music major.
Worked two jobs for a while, just moved out.
I live in an amazing apartment with three amazing people.
I work with kids all day and get paid to essentially color. It's amazing.
Beginning to look at scoring a few films soon..
Wrote TONS of music. I think I have 12 concert ready pieces now?
Picked up DJing. Put it down.
Now working on a solo electronica project akin to Chromeo/Daft Punk type stuff.
I am INCREDIBLY happy with life and the view from my room is amazing.

Maybe I'll update this thing!
